PLA/Cornstarch Bags: A Greener Choice for The Promotions Dept.

This future-forward, female-owned merch firm is taking steps for a greener, cleaner tomorrow by investing in more sustainable packaging for all custom orders.  Richard Hill states, “by making the first step at our primary facilities, we believe we can achieve a goal of the complete elimination of virgin packing material by mid next year. allowing goods to remain covered and protected in transit but with significantly less impact on the planet, and reliance on virgin material.”

Unlike traditional plastics derived from petroleum, corn plastics can be biodegradable, carbon neutral and even edible when end of life is managed (think recycled, reused, recovered).  Corn plastic has been referred to as a zero-waste material.  Electing to use non-petroleum based plastics reduces waste and helps keep harmful materials out of landfills.  The decomposition process of corn plastic returns nutrients to the soil and promotes healthy plant growth. Read more here about the considerations around corn plastics.

While corn plastics aren’t the final solution, we continue to press forward doing what we can to influence others to make more responsible decisions. Whether it’s providing more sustainable options to our clients or pushing our team to always think green, we hope to see all organizations we interact with follow suit.

This initiative represents a significant step forward for ourselves and the clients we represent.  Want to learn more about our sustainability efforts thus far? Dive into our inaugural impact report to find out more about our organization and the many initiatives we are driving forward.
